"Security is our first name." Most of our facilities come equipped with automated gate access, individual security alarms and video surveillance. Some locations also provide climate-controlled units and move-in trucks with most managers living onsite. Each location sells boxes and other packing supplies to make your moving experience easy. We also sell locks, in case you forget to bring one. Before storing any items in your unit, we suggest placing pallets, tarps or plastic sheets on the floor. Allow for proper ventilation by leaving space between your items and the walls, particularly in humid climates. Make sure to leave access space at the front of your unit, and keep your frequently used items where you can easily reach them. The two things people most frequently return for are clothes and files. Stack uniform sized boxes to maximize your available space, but not higher than you can reach. Store higher valued items in the back unmarked. Furniture should be protected with plastic covers and be stood on end. Use larger boxes for light items and smaller boxes for heavier items, such as books, which should be packed flat to protect the spines. Large appliances are perfect for storing soft items such as linens, towels & clothing. Dishes and glassware should be wrapped individually and packed with lots of packing paper or bubblewrap. Plates should be stored on their sides. Use mirror packs or strong cardboard to help prevent damage to mirrors, windows and screens.
